This Data Protection Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit, register for membership, renew your membership, or make a purchase or donation from nationalparty.ie (the “Site”).

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

We track data primarily using Google Analytics, Hotjar Analytics & Cloudflare Analytics.
Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, Stripe Donations), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”
When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Data Protection Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.
MEMBERSHIP REGISTRATION AND RENEWAL INFORMATION
Membership Data is obtained for the purposes of membership registration and membership renewal. Membership Data is retained for the duration of your membership and/or until you request cancellation of your membership. To request cancellation of Party membership you must notify the National Party by email at [email protected] or in writing to the National Party, PO Box 12838, Dublin 2, Ireland.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND PERSONAL INFORMATION?
The National Party collects Membership Information and maintains it securely on electronic databases and in some cases in hard copy form. The National Party may also use your contact information to communicate with you.
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfil any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
Communicate with you;
Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
SHARING YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND PERSONAL INFORMATION
Your Membership Information can be accessed by National Party HQ staff, and may be provided to Party officials and local and regional Party organisers. This is done in accordance with our Data Protection Policy.
We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Woo-Commerce to power our online store. We use Mailchimp to power our email marketing service. We use PayPal and Stripe to provide online transactions. Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
BEHAVIOURAL ADVERTISING
As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. As a European Union resident, you have the right under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. DATA RETENTION

Some Membership or Personal Data may be required after the duration of registered membership in order to comply with certain legal, accounting and regulatory obligations to which the National Party is subject to, e.g. the Standards in Public Office Commission.
Lapsed Party membership data may be retained for a period of 5 years or until a request for cancellation of membership is made. To request cancellation of Party membership you must notify the National Party by email atWhen you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
Google stores user data collected from this website for a period of 50 months.
